BEIJING: TikTok, the popular video-sharing app, is set to announce a new initiative that will provide funding to creators who develop viral effects and filters.
Known as the Effect Creator Rewards program, TikTok has allocated $6 million to reward creators for their most popular effects and filters on the platform. The payment structure will be based on the number of videos that utilize the effects and filters created by the individuals.
Creators will receive a payment of $700 if their effect is used in 500,000 videos within a 90-day period. Furthermore, for every additional 100,000 videos beyond this threshold, an extra payment of $140 will be granted. Essentially, if your filter reaches 1 million shares within 90 days, TikTok will pay you $1400.
In this regard, one person per video per day will be allowed. If a person makes 10 videos of a filter in a day, it will count as one.
